A very nice Allan Davey (Christchurch New Zealand) Sculpture of a Maori Warrior.
The facial details of this piece are fantastic.
This is He Toa, who is represented on the New Zealand One Shilling from 1956-1965. The figure of a Maori warrior is in warlike attitude crouching to left carrying a taiaha (traditional Maori weapon).
This piece looks like carved wood, but is a resin sculpture by Allan Davey, and still has its original tag.
It is in good condition.
